Live KOTO Music
You can experience live traditional Koto music performance on the first Friday of every month. The Koto is a 13-stringed, plucked zither, played with plectrums. The 13 strings of the instrument are tuned individually with movable bridges. The Koto originates from China. The Koto was first played in court orchestral music, Gagaku ensemble,during the 7th century. Advanced Koto players from the Sawai international Koto school will be giving demonstrations at Komachi.
